Dr. Singh is postdoctoral researcher in the Department of physics. He holds a master’s degree in physics and doctorate in Energy. Since 2013, he has assisted the department in establishing renewable energy research and testing facilities and doctoral research program. He has also been involved in assessing, designing and testing innovative renewable energy projects and technologies at the TIA funded KZN Industrial Energy Efficient Training and Resource Centre, Durban University of Technology. Before joining DUT, he was associated with The Energy and Resource Institute (TERI) in New Delhi between 2009 and 2013. During his association with the TERI he was deputed lecturer at TERI University, where he was involved in the establishment of a new department of Energy and Environment. He has designed curriculum content for Energy auditing, energy conservation and management, semiconductor physics and building energy for TERI’s MTech program in Renewable energy technologies and management. He has coordinated distance learning renewable energy programs. He has supervised master’s and diploma students on various topics in the area of renewable energy and has lectured in semiconductor physics and photovoltaic system designing, building physics and green buildings at masters level at the TERI University. His current research interests include modelling of solar energy systems, daylighting and energy efficient building designs.
