DUT ENERGY TECHNOLOGY STATION

The Energy Training Centre has a mandate to focus on SMEs and job creation in particular. Training in the fields of Solar Thermal, Photovoltaics and Building Energy Audit & Training Programme (BEAT) will therefore focus on installation and maintenance at an NQF level 2 and 4. In case of the BEAT course a higher educational level (NQF 5) will be required to enrol on the course.

 

The Photovoltaic and Solar Thermal courses will equip participants with the necessary training to physically install such systems, and will enable them to enter the job market with appropriate skills after course completion. System commissioning will however require an appropriately certified electrician and/or plumber.

Present installers will also benefit from attending our courses in various ways. Firstly an exchange platform is created where different technologies are present and experience can be shared. We also aim to always include latest regulation and latest technology trends in our course material. Hence our participants will always be up to date.
